The November Concert, which took place at the historic Szustra Palace on 17 November, inaugurated the concert series for the 2024/2025 school year. This event attracted many music lovers who came to admire the talents of the young artists.
November is also a time for reflecting on the past year and planning for the future, which fits perfectly with the development of young artists. Thanks to events such as our concert, we can create unforgettable moments together, full of emotion and the beauty of music. This month encourages the discovery of new talents and the celebration of the passion for music. The students of our school had the opportunity to showcase their skills in an atmosphere of mutual support and joy. It is a time when the days become shorter and the evenings longer and more conducive to reflection. As nature prepares for its winter sleep, November also offers plenty of artistic inspiration.
Performances at the November Concert 2024
The first to appear on stage was little Chu Chu, a pupil of Piotr Nermer. Her performance of Natalia Bakłanova’s piece ‘Korowod’ aroused great excitement and delighted the audience with the delicacy and precision of her performance.
Next, we had the pleasure of hearing siblings Max and Laura Szubert. Max, a student of Hanna Malaszka, presented Ludwig van Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Youth’. His interpretation was full of passion and energy, which left the audience captivated by the sounds of the classical work. Laura, a student of Anastasia Soraj, played the miniature ‘Water Sports’ by Ann Bryant, whose lightness and joy brought a touch of freshness to the concert programme.
Also performing from Hanna Malashka’s piano class were siblings Julian and Klara Farafonov. Julian delighted the audience with two miniatures from the piano pedagogy collection: ‘The Sparrow’ and “The Tale of the Woodpeckers”. His playing was characterised not only by technical proficiency, but also by a sense of melody. Klara presented Halina Gnesina’s ‘Song’; her interpretation was emotional and full of subtlety.
Hanna Malaszek’s piano class was also represented by other talented pianists. Marcelina Rytel performed two folk songs – ‘I have an embroidered handkerchief’ and ‘The plump duck’, which put the audience in a joyful mood. Gaja Juchniewicz, in turn, treated us to songs: ‘Wesoły marynarzyk’ and “U misia na imieninach” by Krystyna Druszkiewiczowa; her performance was full of charm and energy.
Talented young artists from Julia Lewiuk’s piano class also performed. Leon Vialle showcased his musical skills during his performance. Theodor Ross played Ann Bryant’s miniature ‘Um pa pa’, and Roma Fiderkiewicz enchanted everyone with Johann Wenhal’s Allegretto. Meanwhile, Kan Kan performed Robert Schumann’s ‘Merry Country Man’ and Helenka Hakiel presented William Gillock’s ‘Mister Trumpet Man’; both girls deserved thunderous applause for their outstanding performances.
From Tatiana Fedchun’s piano class, Zoriana Poladko-Alleyen performed with a piece entitled ‘Deszczyk’, which transported the audience into a world of sounds reminiscent of raindrops falling to the ground – a beautiful combination of playing technique and emotion.
Anastasia Soraj’s piano class was represented by Ayone and Amelia Górecka. Ayone enchanted the audience with her playing of Arthur Sullivan’s piece ‘Two Tunes’ from the musical ‘Pirates of Penzance’, while Amelia presented an adaptation of the children’s song ‘Little Dogs Two’. Jeremi Filar concluded the solo part with the theme song from the film ‘The Pink Panther’, whose distinctive rhythms amused everyone in the concert hall.
At the end of the concert, the Head of School, Zofia Zwolińska, offered her heartfelt congratulations to both the soloists and their pedagogues for their fruitful work on the instruments. She emphasised the importance of the support of parents and grandparents in the musical development of children, thanking them for their care and help in preparing for the performances.
In her speech, she invited all attendees to the next planned Carol Concert, which will take place on 26 January 2025.
