2025 Christmas Carol Concert

A student concert took place in an atmosphere full of concentration and artistic commitment. During the concert, young musicians presented their skills and the results of many months of work with their teachers. The event brought together families, friends, and classical music enthusiasts, who enjoyed a diverse repertoire ranging from Baroque masters to Romantic and contemporary compositions.

Solo Performances

The concert was opened by the school principal, Zofia Zwolińska, who mentioned the extremely rich tradition of carol singing in our country. The collection of carols and pastorals includes 600 items, and the first carol dates back to the 12th century.

During the concert, our students performed carols in various arrangements on different instruments.

From Hanna Malaszak’s piano class, the following students performed:

  • Julian Farafonow, who played the carol “Przybieżeli do Betlejem” (They Came to Bethlehem)
  • and his sister, Klara Farafonow, who played a miniature by Krystyna Druszkiewiczowa.
  • Viktor Klimaszewski performed the song “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
  • Feliks Witecki performed Hans Zimmer’s “Interstellar Theme”
  • Zofia Garczyńka performed Yann Tiersen’s “Comptaine d’un autre ete l’apres-midi”
  • Melania Mayanowa performed a miniature by Anna Martyniuk and “Yurassic Park Theme”

Anastazja Soraya’s piano class was represented by:

  • Antonia Marks, who performed the song “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” together with the teacher
  • Laura Altenberg played the Christmas carol “Lulajże Jezuniu”
  • Max Szubert played the Christmas carol “Przybieżeli do Betlejem”
  • and his sister, Laura Szubert, played the carol “Wśród nocnej ciszy” (In the Silence of the Night).

From Piotr Nermer’s violin class, the following students performed:

  • Mateusz Matys, who performed Jean Baptiste Lully’s “Song,”
  • Chui Wei, whom we heard in the first part of Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto in G major.
  • Gabriela Górska performed Largo – Part II of “Winter” from Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,”
  • and Weronika Brona with Franz Schubert’s Serenade.
  • Valentina Khodas performed “The Town with an Ocean View.”

The following students from Zofia Zwolińska’s violin class performed:

  • Łucja Szlesinger-Lipska with “Rain Song” from the violin pedagogy repertoire
  • Ting Yui Leung played Witold Krotkiewski’s “Etude.”
  • Adam Giejbowicz performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Minuet in D minor and the first and second movements of George Frideric Handel’s Sonata in A major.
  • Lukas Germanovicius performed Johann Sebastian Bach’s Ave Maria – Charles Goudon,
  • and his brother, Aistis Germanovicius, from Tatiana Fedchun’s piano class, played Scott Joplin’s Ragtime
  • At the end of the concert, Valentina Khodas performed once again, playing Antonio Vivaldi’s Double Concerto in A minor together with Piotr Nermer.

The violins were accompanied by Tatiana Fedchun, whose sensitive piano support provided a solid foundation for the soloists.

Concert Presentation

The role of master of ceremonies was performed by Liza Maria Pietraga, who gracefully and professionally introduced the performers, providing the audience with context for the presented works.

Summary

After all the performances concluded, Zofia Zwolińska warmly congratulated the soloists on their achievements, emphasizing the visible progress and commitment of the young musicians. Special words of appreciation were directed to the teachers for their patience, professionalism, and dedication in working with students. There were also warm thanks to parents and grandparents, whose support and involvement in their children’s musical education represents an invaluable contribution to their artistic development.

The concert was an excellent opportunity to showcase the results of the music school’s educational work and confirmation that the young generation of musicians is developing in an atmosphere of professionalism and passion for music.
